The government is just doing what it needs to do in a time of war... 19 guys got on airplanes and flew them into buildings. SO....because of those 19 guys and maybe a thousand others that were supporting them...WE have to give up our rights and let the government do whatever they want without ANY oversight. A couple guys blew up a Federal Building in Oklahoma City. THIS was right here on our shores...would the republicans or anybody else have objected to a monitoring of all phone calls in the U.S. after that attack? WHERE do we go from here? The laws that were originally set up to catch organized gang figures were eventually used to prosecute people for "other" crimes. (rico or something)? Will this monitoring of phone calls eventually lead to the prosecuting of "other" crimes besides terrorism??? Is 1984 just around the corner???????? Where EVERYTHING we say or do will be monitored and analysed and "judged". In 50 years...will ANYONE be courageous enough to express an opinion publically, let alone one that disagrees with the current PARTY LINE??? I'm kinda glad I'm old.
