The controversial allegation in the Da Vinci Code is that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene and they had at least one child. Saying that Christ committed the sin of fornication and was married to a sinner is, apparently, insult upon insult, especially since the progeny aren't superhumans.

On the other hand, if you read the gospels carefully, there's no reason to think that the "woman taken in adultery" is the same person as Mary Magdalene, who was the witness to the Resurrection, but there's a historical tradition that they are one and the same.

Lindy won't like it if we spend much time on this. I am just commenting because it's one of the issues du jour.
