I am still trying to figure out why Jim is calling his poetry Cowboy Poetry? Jim is it because you is a cowboy?

I wouldn't presume to call myself a cowboy. To give a bit of a clue, though, "Concrete Cowboy" was first written in the first person, and is about 75% true.

I don't know if there is such a thing defined as "cowboy poetry." I define personally as something with a 'sing-song' rhythm (or doggerel as ManyMoose said), that tells a story, uses simple themes, and often has some humor or country wisdom included.

Just keep writing.

HA!! You may live to regret that encouragement!
