koan - I haven't checked the transcript, but if he took a swipe at Lou D., then he probably referred to him as a demagogue and not a demigod. I don't mean to pick nits, but there's a major difference between the two.

I think that earlier in the Presidency that Coxe was quite enamoured of Bush, but it's getting increasingly difficult in the face of...everything...to maintain that. Given that his guy is sinking faster in the polls than a certain young intern could get under a desk, I can see why in his exasperation with Bush he might take a swipe at the Clintons instead (as a kind of attention diversion).

I think Coxe is a traditional conservative (as opposed to a neo-Con) and although he is loathe to criticize Bush harshly in public, I've got to believe that he is not at all happy about the fiscal policies of this Administration. That's my interpretation. I am not a psychoanalyst, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night.
