Clearly this is an issue that can generate many varied opinions by well meaning people, but even hinting this administration can be lumped in with "great" mass murdering dictators of the past will not pass the smell test.

It could be argued from an historical standpoint that we have been too liberal and coddled those detained in this war(especially, the ones in Gitmo). They were not taken out and shot like we did commonly in post war Germany, nor were they subjected to death marches like our troops in both theaters of WWII.

The furor over "warrantless wiretaps" is an indicator of how little your side has to work with in this election year. I'm 95% sure that my business phones in the 70's were occasionally listened in on. It is of no offence to me that calls and emails generated from the middle east to my house could be logged.

I am more offended by constant attacks on my computer by endless data miners and hackers, by my personal info being collected and sold, and various other invasions of my privacy. It would appear to me that privacy is a thing of the distant past unless one is prepared to "unwire" and disconnect.

Implying sinister intentions on political opposites may be a national past time, but when you factor in the failures common to large governmental actions....this administration is no worse than any other. And at least they are trying.
