The Kennedy Clan always felt guilt because their father was a crook with deep ties to the mob and the illicit wealth they made through crooked deals, kickbacks, government favoritism, etc. Then they tried to buy their way into society but Boston basically snubbed their noses at Rose and the rest for many years and the father was considered a low class undesirable. Kennedy's speech runs afoul of the libertarian Founders in that they all agreed that individual liberty is supreme. They also warned us through the generations to never trust the government -- any government, no matter which political party is in office. It is a warning you choose to ignore. Your salvation is in your self, not the latest government promise or handout. Father Terrence
