@Eracer - Speed/Notebooks
Speed discussions are important, but in the last time, many
posts seems to go a religious way. AMD can't beat Intel in
the notebook space. The top bins from Core DUO are very good
and the platform is extremly mature. When Intel is doing a
good job then here. To beat Merom AMD has to clock its own
DC parts very high - they could, but not under 35W, so Intel
will hold the lead - of course. BUT, and thats a big BUT,
many people seem to forget the main point. Intel has near
100% Business share in the notebook area and AMDs main
strength lies only in consumer low-end - MOSTLY. With the
new platform, new design and a complete DC structure, AMD will
be able to compete on mostly all fronts. I have said this
before, but it seems that many are more keen on 5% perfor-
mance. So when you ask me, AMD has now the ability to gain
massive share just because they have products - very good
ones - which they haven't before. But who cares ...
