Well said :

// It seems like the board is way too involved in details and is missing the bigger picture. INTC's problems dwarf AMD's and the picture is unlikely to change much, in the short run, no matter how good NGA is. Anyone thinking differently should look at Newton's 1st law. //

I sometimes find that the Yahoo MB actually gives a better "bigger" picture, as many of the posts here get bogged down ( i.e. lost ) in the tiniest details.

Some simple facts :

A)
AMD employs ca. 10,000 people
Intel employs ca. 100,000 people

B)
AMD has SOI, HTT, chHTT and AMD64 64-bit Design
Intel has none of the above

C)
AMD has APM
Intel ?

D)
AMD's excellent 90nm yields, 65nm yields probably good as well
Intel ?

Bottom line for me : I'd expect AMD to have a massive edge over Intel in terms of being competitive in the X86-CPU market!
