"deforming spacetime" is not more descriptive than explanatory...


It's another of those factoids that explains more how the universe isn't, instead of how it is.

Much of Einsetin's special relativity was concerned with the factoid that the speed of light never changed, regardless of relative motions of the light emitters and receivers.

The next big breakthrough in physics will have to deal with the factoid that gravity is not a force, but only the manifestation of acceleration in mass. The real question then is why is the universe accelerating? There's another nobel prize in that answer.
