the AM2 platform has not been fully disclosed yet and there could be room for a co-processor socket on large motherboards for desktop gaming or high-end video/graphics pc's

The problem with high end graphics is its insatiable thirst for bandwidth. It has to come from somewhere. I don't see the physical arrangement for this in a socket configuration, unless there is a huge on-die or in-MCM cache.

On the CPU die graphics co-processor would at least get up to full 12.8 GB/s of the local memory access from attached DDR2-800 - good enough for low end, or maybe mainstream with some cache.
