So you confess Rand was a McCarthyist liar and rightwing extremist, adding to one of the darkest periods of Amrican history. "Socialism" is not a dirty word either. Every single western country is socialist, more or less, including the US. Social security and Medciare are both socialist programs, as is FEMA, federal highways, on and on and on. As for communism, the police state version in the Soviet Union was much-much different from the ideal which was simply working people getting together and sharing to better their communities. Johnny Cash grew up in such a federal commune, after the Great Depression. He called it his "promised land". There are plenty of ways in which socialism and communism makes for a better society, but the Russians totally polluted that with their military police state tyranny. So communism is only a dirty word when applied to the Soviet versio. And by the way, who has helped communist China more that this Bush administration? The Walmart-Bush economy makes CHina thrive.
