Actually, from what I could see on the "Clearspeed" web site- this company makes accelerator CPU's that go on PCI-X plugin boards- so they could also plug into SGI's Intel's x64 computers.

However, the HT interface accelerator on a chip- plug into a spare Opteron socket is much cleaner interface- not to mention an order of mag more CPU to accelerator bandwidth.

Those are the real accelerators- disruptive tech to watch, where regular Joe's (gamers, etc) will be able to buy an accelerator chip for ~<$250 to give an afterburner boost to ordinary apps like 3D games, physics engines, rendenring speedup engines etc.

This HPC stuff is quite low volume (in the grand scheme of things) and not disruptive.
