Kodak Licenses ScanSoft Imaging Solutions from Nuance for New Workgroup and Departmental Scanners

New Kodak Desktop Scanners Combine with ScanSoft OmniPage and PaperPort to Provide Users with Unrivaled Scan-to-Searchable PDF, Document Conversion and Document Management Capabilities
PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 16, 2006--Nuance Communications (Nasdaq: NUAN), a leading provider of speech and imaging solutions, and Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE: EK), the world's foremost imaging innovator, today announced that Kodak has signed a license agreement to bundle Nuance's ScanSoft® OmniPage® and PaperPort® software with Kodak's new desktop workgroup and departmental document scanners in North America and Asia Pacific. Under the agreement, Kodak will bundle ScanSoft OmniPage and PaperPort with the new Kodak i1210 and i1220 series scanners for workgroups and the new Kodak i1310 and i1320 series scanners for the departmental segment. The integration of OmniPage with the Kodak scanners results in a complete document capture solution, providing automated scan-to-searchable PDF, scan-to-desktop, scan-to-archive and scan-to-Microsoft Word capabilities. In addition, PaperPort provides Kodak scanner users with an integrated document management solution for organizing scanned documents, photographs, and existing documents in over 100 formats.
