Pretending two bodies have NO acceleration relative to one another (you or I clinging to a rock on Earth)--the fact that we both attract the Earth to us in infinitesimal degree needs explanation, does it not? If we were in space next a dust mite inches away and at precisely the same direction and speed--would we not attract the mite?
