It is fine with me if you don't find the document to be a credible argument for our independence. I find it substantial, meaningful, and credible.

Good for you. It is substantial, but I challenge you as to whether it was an accurate depiction of the times. My brief creative writing was laced with truths. It fairly accurately described the Stamp Acts and their enforcement or lack thereof. It was true that there was no direct tax on the colonists. It was true that the colonies were largely locally run. It was true that Virginia invaded French terroritory and seized property which drew Britain into a war with France to defend the colonies and threw Britain into substantial debt. It is true that John Hancock was the richest man in New England. It was also true that when the British marched on Monticello, Jefferson scooted out. England was only seeking the colonies to pay ~10% of what England was spending to defend the colonies. They wrote off past expenses incurred that threw them into debt.

For your convenience: The Quebec Act. historywiz.com

Go ahead and read it. The Quebec Act set the boundaries of Quebec and permitted Roman Catholics to freely practice their religion. I challenge you to find what was "Intolerable".
