Applied Materials, the world's top supplier of equipment used to make microchips, said it expected quarterly revenue to rise 5 to 10 percent from the second quarter's $2.25 billion, Handel said in a conference call.
Orders in the third quarter were also expected to rise 5 to 10 percent over the second quarter, when they were $2.49 billion, Handel said.
Wall Street analysts had been expecting Applied to show a third quarter net profit, including items, of 27 cents per share, on revenue of $2.35 billion, according to Reuters Estimates. |
