I believe that Leopold in the Congo predates Rhodes. What he did in his camps was as horrific as a concentration camp. Then again, the Romans were very good at concentration camp tactics in their mining industry. The enslavement and abuse of minorities in agricultural camps is likely as old as agriculture itself. All in all, I don't believe we arise from particularly 'good' seed.
