With so much of the total volume of trading in a day's time being contributed by the institutions, I believe Silicon Invesor's Voting from 1 to 10 on their current state of mind is going to prove to be unique and valuable.

Trend reversals might be more important to shorter term traders while long term trends and possibly a moving average crossover might end up being more important to longer term investors. As we gather more data this will start to reveal itself, I believe. For now the simple spreadsheet I have running seems to do the job. The "weighted" vs "unweighted" lines may prove to be more important as a "crossover" than a moving average of the data. We'll see.

Voter Count, just like in political elections is also an important measure, I feel. Over the many years that I've been an SI member I've noticed that bear markets tend to take poster's enthusiasm away and therefore maybe in the future, voter count. On the opposite side, when markets are hot we see lots of posting and I would assume more voting as well. This is where the weighted vs unweighted measure should play out nicely.

Should images suddenly appear here I think it will increase enthusiasm for the Trend View as well as feed back and help voting count.
