Clinton raised taxes and gave us a near perfect sustainable economy which even created surpluses, had better growth and better jobs than Bush's deficit driven economy, which he juices by borrowing hundreds of billions from China, the Saudis and Japan with no plan how to ever pay it back.

When you have deficits you usually have to raise taxes. Even Reagan raised taxes, but called them fees. Without money our government collapses and then the markets collapse after that. The markets love balanced budgets. Love them. Unfortunately, they also like war and deficit spending. But only temporarily.
