Vivus has the high hand end for any deal involving its
stock. It could use it as cash and pay no interest,to
buy smaller companies with no cash and use actual cash
to finance drug development, or it could use it to
raise cash and build new plants, if they obtained $50
or $100 million cash in a 2ry offering it will be in the
company hands, so it is value for the stock. Your E*trade
example is perfect, theyare using the money to grow the
business and the market understand that.
