JDSU Selected by Eurofiber for Fiber Service and Performance Monitoring Thursday May 18, 8:30 am ET
MILPITAS, Calif., May 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- JDSU (Nasdaq: JDSU - News; TSX: JDU - News) today announced that Eurofiber, the leading specialized provider of managed dark fiber in the Benelux, has purchased JDSU's Optical Network Management System (ONMS) to monitor the quality of service of its dark fiber network infrastructure. The agreement includes options for future service level agreement (SLA) and network support. ADVERTISEMENT The JDSU ONMS was selected by Eurofiber because it enables real-time service, test and performance monitoring over active/live fiber, which improves quality of service, especially for broadband services. JDSU's ONMS also helps Eurofiber reduce time and costs associated with network troubleshooting, operation and maintenance and delivers automatic operation and maintenance tasks, allowing Eurofiber to guarantee its high-quality service to customers.
"The JDSU monitoring system enables us to guarantee the highest possible availability and reliability of our network and thus gives us a tool to give our customers the best possible service," said Joost Goderie, CEO of Eurofiber.
"As companies like Eurofiber provide fiber services to the market, they require greater efficiency not just within the last mile, but throughout the fiber networks interlacing with other systems inside and outside their markets," said Enzo di Luigi, general manager of JDSU's fiber optics Test and Measurement group. "Deploying the JDSU ONMS allows Eurofiber to confront head-on the capacity challenges associated with network deployment, and we are pleased to be working with the company to bring reliable dark fiber to customers throughout Benelux."
