Perhaps you have total faith that some future liberal president exercising the same authority (to wiretap without a court issued warrant that Bush claims) will not use that information to in some way compromise conservative political enemies. I don't share that faith.

The government has sufficient authority to do what it needs to to without scrapping the concept of "checks and balances" envisioned by the founding fathers and incorporated into the constitution.



You libbers seem to want it both ways. You want to be safe and blame the government for everything that upsets your applecarts, then when our security agencies try to gather data on our enemies, you whine like stuck pigs, afraid that Ma Bell is listening to you order pizza.....
