Could someone provide some information on Covad assets? My understanding is they don't own their own network. They are basically a CLEC .. with equipment in switchrooms of ILEC's selling over the ILEC lines. Do they own any networks? I would assume they have at least some metro rings, but I can't seem to find any information other than their marketing spin on thier page saying "covad networks.... blah blah". I'm not trying to down them, but where are their networks? They have no map. I don't understand why a company without any tangibles would be a target for acquisition by backbone carriers. If someone can shed some light on this, I would appreciate it. I just can't see buying stock in a company that would be nearly 100% contingent on another company(s)network for their footprint.
