The immigration issue isn't something I can get a handle on. I am not sure anyone can know the big long term affects of any action on this- so I'm on the fence. Bush's speech struck me as ok- it's as good as anything else- and has as much potential to cause unknown problems as many other actions proposed. I don't comment on things when I don't have a pretty good idea of how they are going to turn out- and I have no strong ideas on immigration. It's not about the centrism, for me, it's about the risk reward ratio. I can't see it on immigration- I just don't know what values to plug in. It's kind of annoying to have people construing a lack of comments as ignoring Bush's centrism. For me it has nothing to do with that. Let's not create false dichotomies, ok? Sometimes (also) I don't comment because I basically agree with a poster and I don't want to just go "ditto"- but I've found that TOO has been interpreted- so now I have to say "I agree" all the time. It's really taken some of the enjoyment out of this forum.
