All interesting, but extremely tentative....

I return to my original point: it is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to prove causation, when both the method underlying a supposedly observed 'effect' cannot be explained, and the evidenciary baseline for said 'effect' is not long enough, or complete enough, to offer any understanding of whether the 'effect' is abnormal in any way, or of long periodicity and thus perfectly normal, etc.

Lastly, were solar output to, in fact, permanently enter an unprecedented period of decline --- for whatever reasons, known or unknown --- there is still very little we humans could actually *do* about the situation... other then continue the advancement and evolution of our civilization as best we could, and hope for the best. Ultimately... only dispersing ourselves outward into space could offer the kind of species protection you seem to be wishing for.... Keep not all your eggs in one basket!
