Balancing the books is what's important, regardless of tax rates. If you don't tax as much you can't spend as much.

Bushies are the only ones who have totally forgotten that common sense fact. Clinton raised taxes, balanced the books and gave us probably the best economy of our lifetimes.

FDR was a great president, but things were much-much different back then. We had a Great Depression then WWII to worry about. In those cases, high taxes for the rich were probably mandatory. Someone had to pay for millions of Americans in uniform.
