Yes, the coastal communities have a right to decide if they want drilling off their shores, and they clearly don't want it. The area off California where big oil wants to drill is wonderful pristine ocean. They already have rigs north of Santa Barbara and that's enough.

I fear western Colorado is no longer so beautiful. If it's anything like western Wyoming it's been decimated by drilling and shake oil operations. It's a wasteland now. Really ugly.
Don't believe the Kerr-McGee ads with the wild horses. They truly devastate every wild area they go into, No exceptions.

All wetlands should be left alone. They are the cradle of life.

Prudhoe Bay is already despoiled. ANWR isn't. ANWR will be ruined if they allow drilling there.

We would save more oil than is in all these beautiful places if we just upped engine efficiency by 25%. Kerry-McCain tried to do that in 2001 but the Bushie lobbyists defeated them. Another big tragedy was Reagan disbanding Carter's clean fuels, solar and efficiency programs. If we'd left them we'd be off Arab oil already.
