and...
speaking of niños de revolución
i had bridgette and dave (mi niños) up on my boat at the lake last weekend... they were both depressed - kath and i were too - it's a compassion thang... about the state of civilization...
i played the COTR cd that i bought in seattle and when "keep holding on" came on we all started dripping salt water from our red eyes.
we decided that we needed to commit to la revolución de amor. we want COTR to be our musical leaders because they are committed to using their talent for international understanding.
ms. b is supposed to contact them about any help we can provide for their albuquerque appearance at the rio grande zoo in july. dave is in charge of flash video on the web to promote thier appearance here. kath is in charge of yakking them up to citizens. and i... shall yak on the web.
in that vein, here's a present for NNBM:
Fans and Friends of the Revolution, We are giving away our new song "Guantanamo Bay". Free. Yes, you can download it, burn it, put it on your mp3 player, give it away, whatever you want. We think the world could use more American groups with a message of peace and unity. This is what COTR can offer. Help us spread the Revolution through music and humor.
If you are into our deal, forward this to whomever you think will dig it and spread the word. Just go to cotrmusic.com and go to the red letters.

This is a chance to see our mad violinist, up close, personal, and solo. The Triple Door Theater, if you've never been there, is one of the best concert venues on the West Coast. It's intimate, the sound is impeccable, the lights are world class, and the food and drinks are fabulous:
it's that rare place where everything is wonderful for both the audience AND the performer. COTR has done 3 performances here including our most recent CD release and a benefit for "Care To Help".

Zoo Music tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for New Mexico BioPark Society members, children age 3 - 12 and seniors over 65. Visit www.nmzoosociety.org or call 764-6280 for more information on becoming a member. They may be purchased at the Zoo in advance or the night of the concert from any Zoo cashier.

Children of the Revolution was born in 1998 when vocalist Vassili of Greek heritage and guitarist Eric Jaeger joined musical forces to create a new sound in contemporary world music. They were soon joined by Barcelona-born flamenco dancer/guitarist/vocalist Encarnación, and some of Seattle's most talented multi-ethnic singers, dancers and musicians including a violinist whose high-energy stage antics rival Pete Townsend and the foremost Middle Eastern and Latin percussionists in the region. The show that evolved is a non-stop rollercoaster, weaving effortlessly through rock, flamenco, ska, Greek, Turkish, salsa, R & B, Middle-Eastern and even hip-hop.
