Sorry for the delay in replying.
Well, my opinion is - and this is a truncated version of my answer, of course - that a Libertarian platform focuses upon responsibility which, in such an age as this where government has at least one tentacle in every sphere of life, is ultimately anathema both to the state and its many beneficiaries as well.
Special interest groups, minorities, and not a few immense corporate entities would have to fend for themselves without the great paternal force in Washington (or their respective states) redistributing economically and politically for them.
Of course, where many Americans see such changes as potentially disastrous, I see them as beneficial. Indeed, welcome.
