Jeez, go back a year and read the 10,000 posts. The "Bush solution" added huge numbers to the deficit... huge unsustainable numbers.

It's because his ideological goal of "privatization" took precedence over the pragmatic goal of "fixing" (not the drama queen term "saving") SS.

Of course the larger debate is "can the private sector do everything better than the public sector", and the obvious answer is no. SS is just one example.
