I just returned from the hearing in San Jose. It lasted 15 minutes. Not much happened, except for the scheduling of the next hearing on Nov 13 at 10am. There will also be sets of briefings on Oct 15 and 29. The prosecuting attorney said he thought the case against Avant was strong. It was stated that there are 7 issues that were not resolved by settlement. The main issue discussed at today's hearing was a protective order for the recusal hearing (or something like that), and that will be decided at the Nov 13 hearing. The prosecuting attorney asked the judge to make a decision regarding this matter soon, and was disappointed by the delays. I covered today since I don't see much happening between now and Nov 13.
