The report raises doubts about the value of tightening security along the Mexican border. President Bush wants to hire 6,000 more Border Patrol agents and dispatch up to 6,000 National Guardsmen. He did not mention overburdened courts in his Oval Office address Monday on immigration.

The solution to the problem is much easier than most assume.

First we must understand the major CAUSE of the EFFECT, and that is Economic Reward. Most Illegals come to this country because of the drastic wage differences between the US and other Latin American countries.

The Presidents of several Latin American countries have spoken out negatively against the Bush Administrations "knee jerk" response of deploying National Guard Troops to the Border to prevent these "illegals" from crossing. They have spoken out for good reason as Billions of Dollars are sent electronically each year into these "Third World Countries" to help stimulate their economies from "illegal" family members in the US. These leaders claim that the solution is to provide foreign aid to their countries in order to build their economies to close the wage compensation gap between the US and their countries. This is a very long term theory on how to curb illegal immigration.

I believe that a easier near term solution is possible.

Prevent the Transfer of these largely "un-taxed" funds to these countries. The lure of entering the US illegally for "financial gains" so your family members back in San Salvador car reap the benefits of these gains, quickly disappear when you are unable to send the money back to them.

Some concept like. You must present proof of US Citizenship/Alien Registration Card along with filing Tax Documents to transfer funds to a foreign country. Anyone requesting to transfer monies without the proper documentation would either be denied, or it would be instantly considered non-taxed income, and be subject to a deduction at the highest tax bracket (~40%) which would be transfered to the US Treasury.

Just as a side note. I am not a racist. I am in fact married to my wife of 35 years who is from Colombia. We followed the policies and practices for her to immigrate here legally. It was a long expensive time consuming process.

As a matter of fact. If you want to see people that are really against illegal immigration. You have to look no further than those that came here legally via the process as required by our laws.
