How about we stop supporting professional politicians all together. Lets find a decent individual who represents our principles and is willing to speak for us as a noble human being, and throw our support behind that person, then find another, and another, and another, until the idea catches on and noble human character becomes 'popular'. Easiest and cheapest way to clean up the streets of the wild west I can think of. OK..but until those viable candidates show up...it's lesser of the two evils....and the republicans are the most evil of any party.
