AMD finally convinces Dell that the AMD roadmap is in it for the long haul, and you guys somehow twist that into an AMD negative?

No. The DELL AMD 4P Server announcement was a definite positive. A positive immediately reflected in a 15%+ jump in the stock price.

What WAS DELL's announcement? To use AMD only in 4P Servers and sell the first one in 6 months. No encouragement that 1P, 2P, Laptop or Desktop is on the roadmap. Is it possible that the market overrated to this positive news? Is it possible it's Pravin's dove flapping aggressively (in bluff) to draw attention away from DELL's stinking earnings and outlook?

What are the potential upsides for AMD from here over the next 2 months?
- Sony, Toshiba adopt Opteron in Servers in a "Me too, Dell."
- IBM gets an additional spur to put Opteron in big iron and big servers.
- AMD lays out the K8L roadmap with the AM2 socket announcement.
- K8L sample benchmarks "leak" with record numbers.
- FB-DIMMS go over as well as Rambus DIMMS. (longer than next 2 months)
- Conroe Laptops and Turion X2 (90mn) are competitive and AMD is flooding the market with them from 3 fabs. (Where IS that extra production, btw?)
- the SOX stops falling and starts to rise (lifting all boats).
- AMD shows K8L DC die photo.
- AMD shows K8L QC die photo.

Possible upsides, but improbable
- DELL, Sony, Toshiba adopt Turion X2 into Laptops. (Why not yet?)
- INTC mismanages (again!) chipset production for its NGA release.
- AMD issues a pre-earnings advisory that revenues are higher than expected: INTC's price war is having no effect.

What are the downsides:
- When the Conroe Laptops ship, Turion X2 become second rate and AMD has to compete on Performance/$
- AMD refuses to talk about K8L on June 1.
- AMD issues an earnings warning due price competition (I don't see much evidence of this yet)
- INTC steals the show at the Convention in early June

There are lots more on both sides, but I gotta go.
