Homeland Security Group International Appoints Dr. James J. Richardson, Ph.D. as Technology Advisor

DEL MAR, CA, May 22, 2006 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- Homeland Security Group International (PINKSHEETS: HMSG) announced today that the company is pleased to welcome Dr. James Richardson, PH.D. to the Advisory Board as Technology Advisor.

Dr. Richardson has held many distinguished positions in the scientific community and has served as a consultant to large organizations including Senior Fellow at Potomac Institute for Policy Studies. Dr. Richardson, in his capacity as Technology Advisor, will be called upon from time to time to advise the company on the current state of the defense industry as applies to Defense Technology. Dr. Richardson will also be available to the company to advise them concerning advancements in design and development of new ballistic compounds and evaluations of current security programs as pertain to assessments associated with ballistic threats.

Held several positions DARPA (e.g., Director of the Land Systems Office, Special Assistant to the Director of DARPA, and Scientific Advisor for the US Ambassador to the Conventional Forces in Europe treaty negotiations in Vienna, Austria). Led the development of new combat technologies, wrote and negotiated an MOU with Department of Justice (signed by the Attorney General and Deputy Secretary of Defense), represented DoD in the "Partnership for a New Generation Vehicle" (Clean Car) initiative, and directed the DARPA/Army/USMC Joint Armor Anti-Armor program chartered by the Secretary of Defense. His office performed R&D in armor and anti-armor, leading to the transition of 16 advanced products to the Army and Marine Corps featuring advanced materials, unconventional lethality and survivability technologies and hypervelocity projectiles, the first large (9MJ) electromagnetic gun and a "smart minefield."
Research Engineer to Deputy Director for Research, Development and Acquisition (SES), US Army Missile Command (1970 to 1987). Served at the U.S. Army Missile Command as Director of the Structures Directorate and Deputy to the Commanding General for Development, Engineering, and Acquisition. Formed and chaired red teams and panels that solved a number of missile failure problems and reviewed and redirected several on-going programs. He also served as Deputy Chairman of the Source Selection Advisory Committees for the Forward Area Air Defense and Javelin systems. Performed research in structural and missile flight dynamics.
