ASPN 3.90 + .14 - buying opportunity from ceocast.

Junior energy company Aspen Exploration Corporation (OTCBB: ASPN), reported results for its third quarter and nine month period ended March 31, 2006 with revenue increasing 37% to $1.5 million for the three month period and earnings per share rising to $0.17 compared to $0.13 in the same period a year earlier. Note that the company’s results were taxed during the current quarter, and were not taxed in the same period last year. For the nine month period Aspen reported revenues of $4.8 million an increase of 55% and earnings per share rising to $0.24 compared $0.21. Growth was attributable to an increase in production volumes from recent gas discoveries and higher prevailing prices for natural gas. Gas production for the quarter increased 8% to 2,033 MMBTU per day with gas prices for the quarter averaging $8.18 per MMBTU versus $6.52 per MMBTU last year. Production levels are expected to be strong throughout the balance of the year. Shares lost 90 cents last week, we believe, due to many investors being confused by the tax expense the company incurred, closing at $3.76.
