This is really ugly, and will make a lot of headlines in the future. The thing is, I still can't blame the soldiers... it's the politicians that put them in these impossible, mind numbing positions. Chances are these kids, if civilian or not in a time of war, would have been jerks and gotten into a few bar fights, other trouble but eventually settled down to live normal lives. Put the same personalities in the totally bizarre situation of the war in Iraq, and they flip out. The same guy that would throw a few punches in a bar in the US casually kills innocent women and children in Iraq.

I think its this kind of behavior or a break down. Few can maintain their equilibrium under these circumstances. I still get sick to my stomach when I think of the Afghan that was tortured to death. Its not how we imagine American behavior to be.
