--The online financial data provider said for the latest
first quarter, it earned 2 cents per ADS or breakeven per
share, both excluding share-based compensation expenses. It
also recorded a net exchange gain of $93,000 in the quarter.
--For the latest first quarter, one analyst expected the
company to earn 5 cents a share, excluding exceptional items,
according to Reuters Estimates.
--China Finance Online said it added 1,514 new subscribers
during the latest quarter, a decline of 42 percent from a year
ago. The average subscription fee for new subscribers fell by
11 percent to $185 during the quarter.
--Shares of the company fell about 23 percent to $5 in
after-hours trade on the Inet electronic brokerage network,
after closing at $6.48 on the Nasdaq.
