3GHz Woodcrest preview with benchmarks at Tech Report! techreport.com Opteron 285 looked good overall. If Opteron were running at 3GHz it would be very close to the Woodcrest scores. The dual Woodcrest system used slightly less power despite the FB-DIMM disadvantage. Each Woodcrest CPU was only using 59W under load according to the single versus dual-Woodcrest power consumption comparison.
