Wrong. First the latency will be roughly the same on DDR-II
when you don't use GOOD timings. If the memory is good,
Latency on DDR-II will be lower, but not that much. BUT,
the more you go to 2-4 sockets or more, you will see huge
benefits under the new platforms which will come in July
(officially - NDA exists). Be prepared for much HIGHER number in NUMA systems.
