Explain how deciding this issue on the economics of the situation is emotional gratification. I don't see it. Unless you want to define everything as emotional gratification- in which case the term becomes meaningless. Is that what you mean? Clearly some people find logic gratifying and some people don't- if you put it that way then everyone's decision about anything is emotional gratification.
