I don't think the sky is falling - this time. I think we have just seen a parabolic blow-off top in commodities, which has happen to coincide (and has some degree of correlation with) with the ending of a number of carry trades.

Much of the unwinding of the carry trades will be completed soon if not already. Newer carry trades - differrent currencies, new long sides - will be put on in smaller sizes in the next few months.

I expect new trades might look like short CDN / long AUS - short Canadian dollar, since it will be tied to the USD, and long Aussie dollar, since it will be allowed to run, and has an even higher resource component than Canada.

I would also expect short UK pound GBP and long Euro.

Also long a basket of pro-capital LATAM, like Chile, Brazil, maybe Mexico.
