I would believe that the attorney general's office and the judge that issued the warrant looked at the appropriate Constitutional clauses pretty hard before the warrant was issued.

I would believe just the opposite.
The attorney general seems to want to push the envelope in civil liberties. There in fact seems to be a desire for a "strongman" form of government if not an outright dictatorship.
