comments from this AM's morning coffee??
"Century Mining (CMM : TSX-V : $1.04), Net Change: -0.29, % Change: -21.80%, Volume: 1,967,172
Centuries? Didn’t know you could find them underground. It appears that with sentiment towards the gold sector being
negative Friday, some investors chose to sell into this gold producer’s earnings news and ignore its growth prospects. In Q1F06,
Century lost $0.01 per share, a significant improvement over the $0.09 it lost in the previous quarter, as its revenues increased
by 12.1% quarter over quarter to $11.1 million. Currently, the company’s production comes from the Sigma mine in Quebec,
where it produced 18,900 ounces in the quarter and expects to produce 90,000 ounces of gold this year. The addition of new
trucks this summer and other measures are expected to help reduce costs from US$386/oz in the quarter to an average of
US$325-350 for the year. Additional growth is planned from the Lamaque underground mine in Quebec and the San Juan Mine
in Peru, which combined are expected to drive total company production from 100,000 ounces of gold this year to 130,000
ounces in 2007 and 210,000 ounces in 2008."
