Bush voters were mainly just hoodwinked. Rove and the Bush advertising staff were and still are experts at creating myths, both positive and negative, lying and smearing as they go, manipulating the media, and using Bush like an actor to "star" in their productions, with US troops used as stage props.

On the flipside they are experts at using peoples' fears to smear democrats like John Kerry, who though a, honest courageous war hero was portrayed as a waffling, ineffective, dishonest weak-kneed liberal.

Of course now we know just the opposite is true. And the word has gotten around even into red states and conservative camps. Bush has done more harm to our national security than Al Qaida has, and he's got us on a road to bankrupcy and some kind of industrial-military-theocracy dictatorship.

Btw: There are probably 10 million Americans who would support a Bush dictatorship. Scary but true.
