I'm well aware of the medieval warm period. But Greenland was still mostly an ice sheet, that was my comment.

BTW, Novia Scotia is now into wine grapes and wineries. I'm waiting for the first one to open in Alaska. I'd think the vast bulk of England would be OK for wine now, as long as one takes some precautions to drop the vines and cover them with mulch in the winter.

What do you attribute the medieval warm period to?

Not greenhouse gases.
