Democrats seem to come up with some of the most interesting defenses.

No one can investigate a Congressperson.
Perjury about sex is ok.
It is ok for me to attack a police officer if I think he racially profiled me.
I don't know where the Rose Law firm billing records in my private residence came from.
There is no controlling legal authority.
It is ok for Democrat kids to slash the tires of rented vehicles to prevent Republicans from voting.
Union thugs coordinated attacks against Bush Cheney campaign headquarters are ok.
