Jeffrey,

I believe an explanation is forthcoming soon and that todays "news" is an attempt by the company to mitigate the effects of either irrational exhuberance or frontrunning. Until we here something definitive we're simply left with the ..."private musings of individual investors".

However, given what we "know" we certainly can speculate on what the "news" might be. We know that MSFT has adopted VBI as part of its broadcast architecture and that Wavephore's technology is compatible with MSFT's channel definition format. If WAVO's decoder technology is incorporated into code for Windows '98 and I.E. 4.0 then WAVO becomes the defacto standard for VBI datacasting. Not only could this provide licensing revenues from the sale of every Window '98 program, it also would make the PBS/Wavetop network the natural choice for content providers and, more importantly, advertisers....

Please don't wake me up!
