I think an EU type economic zone for the ME would be good, but I don't see any other solution but ethnic states for Israel and Islamic countries. Iraq might yet show the way with Shia, Sunni, and Kurd, but so far, not so hot.

The problem is that the religious and cultural aspects are very encompassing of must aspects of life, both for Jews and Muslims. In the USA, we've adopted a model that says we will change with the future. Even here, there will be great resistance when the change goes so far as to shift language. But demographics win in the end, pissing up wind does not change that. If you don't want change, you must control demographics. You might recall all the laughing on SI at the French with there demographic issues, but those same people are the ones most concerned about our southern border.

I sometimes wish it were Australia on our southern border. I wonder how much bitching there would be if we had 10 million Aussie illegals melding in our society. 'Doubt the screaming would be nearly so high!
