OT: LOLOL Lester. I've actually run across Bruce Conner before due to my interest in modern pranskters and hoaxsters, but didn't know he had purloined my monicker. I should repeat his gym performance, giving him a bunch of buttons saying "I am not Lone Clone" while wearing one saying "I am Lone Clone".

I came by my monicker when as a callow teenager living in Victoria -- you can tell I was callow because I still read science fiction in those days -- I invented a field sport played with frisbees and persuaded a few dozen people to play it on a regular basis.

When I interested some Vancouver friends in playing, this became our first road trip -- combined with a Yes concert if I remember correctly, which is doubtful; it could have been Jethro Tull or Genesis or Gentle Giant or ELP or some combination thereof instead -- so we needed to come up with a name for the team.

Noone had heard of cloning in those days, but I knew about it from my SF reading, and it sounded pretty cool, so we became the Clones. I still have an old T-shirt in a box somewhere.

Since I was the first Clone, but there was noone before me, I became the Lone Clone, the only clone with no original.

Perhaps distressingly, if I told you my real name and you googled me, the first three entries have to do with frisbee sports.

Whereas you, of course, are renowned for your tenor sax playing.
